JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (August 4, 2014) – Nicole McGowan Smith has been appointed to fill the new role of Director of Community Relations at Legacy Village of Jacksonville.

“We are honored to be entrusted with the care of so many special loved-ones in the larger Jacksonville region,” says Clint Holyfield, Executive Director at Legacy Village of Jacksonville. “With Nicole’s appointment, we are expanding our capacity to serve as a leading resource to Jacksonville and the entire northeast Alabama area on issues related to senior care, and for those who are planning ahead for that stage of life. Nicole will be instrumental in helping us carry out that mission,” he said.

“Legacy Village is a great community for those who are at a transitional point in their life,” says Smith. “I am very excited to be working with such a caring and welcoming community. I look forward to helping new residents transition into their new home at Legacy Village of Jacksonville.”

Smith will play in integral role in helping families as they transition their loved ones into the “warm, comfortable, and home-like” atmosphere Legacy has worked to deliver to its residents.

Smith, a graduate of Jacksonville State University, joins the Legacy Village of Jacksonville team with a background in sales and marketing. Among other responsibilities, Smith will lead Legacy Village of Jacksonville’s efforts to develop partnerships with local organizations that are focused on serving seniors, their families and the community.

“Legacy Village of Jacksonville is committed to being an active contributor to the Jacksonville, Ala., community. We are very excited to be a key sponsor of the first ever Walk to End Alzheimer’s in our area,” Smith said. The community-wide event, which will be held on Saturday, September 27, coincides with Legacy Village of Jacksonville’s new campaign to help families understand the impact of life-changing decisions when caring for an older loved one.
